BSA Will Continue Work to Shape Connecticut AI Bill
WASHINGTON – BSA | The Software Alliance Senior Vice President of US Government Relations Craig Albright issued the following statement after the introduction of SB 2, comprehensive artificial intelligence (AI) legislation in Connecticut:
“All Americans deserve thoughtful rules to address high-risk uses of artificial intelligence. Legislation that builds trust in and supports the adoption of responsible AI will spread its benefits widely across the economy.
BSA appreciates the work of Connecticut State Sen. James Maroney to craft and introduce SB 2, a substantial entry into the debate over how AI risks should be governed and which touches on a broad set of AI issues. BSA looks forward to working with Sen. Maroney to continue refining the scope of SB 2 and clarifying the roles of and obligations for AI developers and AI deployers.
BSA urges lawmakers to craft workable AI legislation that addresses high-risk uses of AI and reflects the important distinction between developers and deployers of AI systems."
