BSA Expresses Disappointment Over Today's Oracle v. Google Verdict
We are disappointed in the outcome of today’s trial. The unauthorized copying for commercial purposes of substantial and essential elements of a competitor’s code in a manner that undermines the market for that software seems inconsistent with public interest goals of the fair use defense. We worry about the impact today’s verdict could have on the incentives for software companies to invest in research and development.
