Industry Alliance Updates Secure Software Development Framework
Politico Pro, September 22, 2020

Tech industry group BSA | The Software Alliance today is releasing an update of its first-of-its-kind framework for developing secure software, which debuted last year. The reasons for the inaugural revisions are twofold, Tommy Ross, BSA’s senior director for policy, told MC. First, there’s been a rise in software supply chain threats, so the alliance wanted to beef up that section, he said. Second, since the framework’s release, NIST has put forward its own. “Organizations that are interested in aligning with that, our update will now allow them to get a little more specific guidance to do that,” Ross said. Ross added that regular revisions are likely going forward.
