BSA | The Software Alliance CEO Victoria Espinel testifies before a Senate Commerce subcommittee on “The Need for Transparency in Artificial Intelligence.”
The CEO of tech trade group BSA | The Software Alliance, Victoria Espinel, plans to focus on provisions she wants in any AI legislation, including a requirement that impact assessments be conducted on AI models to identify potential risks. Espinel will also push lawmakers to quickly pass any legislation as other governments forge ahead on their own measures.
“The U.S. should have a role in leading those conversations or shaping that global conversation on how to regulate AI,” Espinel said in an interview with Mallory. “And the window to do so is rapidly closing.”
