BSA Welcomes Irish High Court's Decision to Grant BSA Amicus Status

WASHINGTON — July 19, 2016 — The Irish High Court today granted BSA’s application to participate as an amicus curiae in the Data Protection Commissioner v Schrems and Facebook case on data transfers from Europe that rely on standard contractual clauses (SCCs).

Thomas Boué, BSA Director General, Policy – EMEA, said: “We welcome the High Court’s decision that BSA can provide valuable insights to assist the court in making a well informed and sound decision in this extremely important case. We stand ready and look forward to assisting the court in the proceedings.”
