BSA Welcomes Brian Fletcher as Director of Policy in APAC

SINGAPORE – March 2, 2020 – Brian Fletcher joins BSA | The Software Alliance today as Director of Policy – APAC. Based in Singapore, Brian will work closely with BSA’s robust global policy team to advance BSA’s key priorities in the APAC region.

“I’m happy to have Brian on board as we continue our work in Asia to promote policies that instill trust in technology,” said Victoria Espinel, President and CEO of BSA | The Software Alliance. “Brian’s experience in the public and private sectors will help us continue to collaborate with governments across Asia to protect consumer privacy, promote the free flow of data across borders, and advocate for strong cybersecurity policies.”

Brian joins BSA from Symantec, where as Director Government Affairs APJ, he led government affairs activities in the region, addressing issues including privacy and personal data protection, cybersecurity, cybercrime, cyber defense, and barriers to cloud computing. Prior to Symantec, Brian held the role of Director, Cyber Security Relationships for the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) in Canberra, Australia. Previously, Brian was the Councilor, Defense and Cyber Policy for the Embassy of the Government of Australia in Washington, DC, and held several policy and operational roles for the Department of Defence in Canberra, Australia. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Australian National University in Canberra, Australia, a Graduate Certificate in Scientific Communications also from Australian National University, and a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Institute of Business in Adelaide, Australia.
