BSA Applauds Senate Passage of USMCA
WASHINGTON – January 16, 2020 – BSA | The Software Alliance commends the Senate’s passage of implementing legislation for the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). The USMCA digital trade chapter sets a new gold standard for digital trade provisions around the world. These provisions will foster innovation and promote American technological leadership.
“Progressive digital trade agreements are vital to the US economy and the global economy. Businesses in all sectors rely on the free movement of data across borders, and the USMCA is a strong step towards creating international consensus on how that data should be treated,” said Craig Albright, Vice President, Legislative Strategy at BSA | The Software Alliance. “BSA applauds the leaders in the House and Senate who have supported the USMCA.”
